MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS The studio sends monthly newsletters home each month. The newsletters contain important information and dates. Please check the studio web site if you do not receive a copy. PARENTS DAY Parents, please take note that you may observe your child at any time through the two-way mirrors located in the lobby. You may observer in class the 1st week of October, December, and February. Parents, in-class observation is not allowed unless it is a designated observation day. If you feel it is important to observe your child at another time, please contact Dorothy to make arrangements. Exceptions will be made for out of town visitors. It is important to keep distractions to a minimum to maximize a child’s learning ability. Please feel free to bring cameras and/or camcorders during in-class observation days. PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES If you wish to speak with us concerning your child’s progress, please e-mail Dorothy (dorothytaylor@balletwestside.com) or call the studio before classes begin (3:00 pm), as the instructors are busy teaching classes after 3:30 pm. UNATTENDED STUDENTS Please be aware that we try to take extra precautions with security and the well-being of all children but please caution your child about staying in the lobby or on the deck and off of the parking lot if they are waiting to be picked up. If your child is 7 or younger, they will be asked to remain inside the studio until their parents pick them up. All preschool children will be held in their classroom until they are picked up. Parents, if you know you will be late picking up your child, please advise the child’s teacher or call the studio. Please remember the teachers have other classes to teach and the receptionist is also busy transporting students. We cannot be baby sitters for children dropped off early or picked up late. Please instruct your child on correct behavior and attitude. TUITION POLICY If tuition is paid for the entire year by September 10th, 2008, May’s tuition will be free. To encourage more children to get involved in their dance education, second classes per week are offered at a 30% discount and 3rd classes per week are half price. Additional classes beyond the 3rd class per week are half price (for the same child). Family Rate - A 20% discount of combined tuition for immediate family members is offered. This does not apply to second and third classes per week since they are already discounted. Important - Tuition is the same for each month, even if classes are missed for holidays or absenteeism. Students are not allowed to skip a payment for the month because they did not attend. Students may make up lessons in a different class by the instructor’s assignment. Please Note: Classes will be held August 25th, 2008 through June 5th, 2009. Tuition is the same each month from September through May, with half tuition due for June, even if the student does not attend or if regular classes are not held. June requires extra practices, dress rehearsals, and the recital itself. There will be no charge for classes held in August. Tuition paid after the 10th of the month will be subject to a $10.00 service charge. Tuition received after the 20th of the month will be subject to a $20.00 service charge. Tuition is to be placed in the tuition pig on the desk at the studio. Please include your child’s name and “tuition” on your checks. Parents will be required to sign a statement declaring they have read and understand the above studio policies and that they also understand the physical dangers of dance and will not hold Ballet Westside responsible for injuries sustained while receiving dancing instruction. This statement can be found on the opposite side of the brochure. Ballet Westside accepts VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. |
